Getting into Research Labs in College
As someone who was involved in three labs in my undergraduate degree (subtle flex yes), I know a thing or two about getting into labs.
It can be quite daunting to try to get into labs, as many of these profs are putting out amazing work, that’s why they have a lab.
But the truth is, undergraduates are a huge part of the university research culture.
While graduate students are often held more accountable because of how the principle investigator has them by the balls, undergraduates do a lot of the grunt work.
Doing this grunt work however can open up a world of opportunities. It will also look amazing on that application to medical school or resume!
Undergraduates however offer a lot of potential and a fresh mindset that many principle investigators appreciate. Use this to your advantage!
